PP's 2001 Panto raises 500 for Bishop Benzies Appeal

Pplogo.gif (1648 bytes) Parish Players was founded in 1958 and is a group of amateurs who meet regularly from 7.45pm to 10.00pm on Tuesday evenings in St Mary’s Church Hall, Church Path, Merton Park, SW19.
We aim to put on at least two productions a year – one a pantomime during the first week of January  (Cinderella in 2001 - read the critique) followed by a production towards the end of May. Recent summer productions have included Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Ernest' (our 2000 production - read the critique), ‘Arcadia’ by Tom Stoppard in 1999,  'Midsummer’s Night’s Dream' by William Shakespeare and ‘All the World’s a Stage’ (songs from the shows, which was put together by two of our members). Sometimes we put on productions at other times of the year (for instance we performed ‘A Journey’s End’ in November 1993, to commemorate Remembrance Day).

The minimum age for membership is 13, but individuals may join in the academic year in which they will be 13. (Members under 16 will need signed permission from their parent/guardian signifying their understanding and acceptance of the child’s membership of the group). There is no maximum age!

Subscriptions are 20 per annum and 10 for  the unwaged (students, OAPs, etc).

Even if you are not a budding thespian, but have an interest in the theatre, Parish Players provides an opportunity to participate in all aspects of a production – costume, make up, lighting, sound, props, stage management, front of house –

you don't have to tread the boards!
