Safeguarding

Our Parish Safeguarding Officer, Maggi Chick, is responsible for implementing policies to safeguard children and vulnerable adults of the church.

Policies and procedures are set out by Southwark Diocese and are contained in the handbook A Safe Church. The policies and contact details, for both the Parish Safeguarding team and those for the Diocese of Southwark, are posted on the noticeboard at the back of the church.

The Safeguarding team has, this year, set out to establish and manage an up-to-date database, to publicise training courses and to liaise with Parish Officers to implement the latest Safeguarding requirements.

Safeguarding training
Two Church of England online safeguarding training modules are available here: https://safeguardingtraining.cofeportal.org/ - C0: 'Safeguarding Basic Awareness’ and C1: 'Safeguarding Foundations’.

C0 is recommended for anyone who needs a basic level of awareness of safeguarding, and C1 for people who have safeguarding responsibilities or contact with children, young people and/or adults who may be vulnerable.
